Every year I do a few holiday shoots for couples in the Willamette Valley. Our area always guarantees wet and cold as we head into December. This year, we ended up at Johnson Bros Garden Market to stay warm and dry. When we pulled opened up the doors to the poinsettia greenhouse, we found ourselves in amazement. The warm air hit our cold faces as we shrug off the chilly day and we were in awe that the entire thing was decorated of the holidays! Ornaments hanging from the ceiling, Christmas trees wrapped in bows and lights, cute benches – it just kept getting better! Also, shout out to Johnson Bros to letting us bring Scarlet, the best dog EVER, along with us. The nursery staff was very welcoming and let us walk around the entire property for as long as we needed to get the shots we wanted. Bryan and Devon have done photos with me two years in a row now, and they are always so much fun, easy going, and loving. I cannot wait for more in the future. Always a pleasure you guys!
Brenda and I picked the one day this week that was sandwiched by rain. The morning was windy, cloudy, and not looking all that promising. But wouldn’t you know it, the minute we drove out to our location, the sun peeked out and stayed shining bright the entire time we were out there. A true testament to Brenda’s sunny disposition. She has recently moved home to Eugene from Santa Barbara, and kept remarking how much she loved being back in Oregon. Joy emitted from her as she felt the moss on her feet, and saw all the plants and water she had missed so much. We frolicked in the stream and climbed into trees. I was so happy and honored to capture these moments of a girl back in her natural habitat.
I want to thank Brenda for coming out with me and for bringing the sun with her. We were able to walk around and catch up, and since this was the first time I’d seen her since she’d been home, it wasn’t a surprise when we looked down and it had been over two hours. “Oregon sun is so different than California sun” she kept saying as we both soaked it in. As we were leaving, the rain came, and we couldn’t help but laugh and the perfect timing of the whole day. Big hugs to my girl Brenda. I hope you love your pictures.
